March 13, 2018 - 3:08 pm

Authorities say six children are in the hospital, three of them in critical condition, after the van they were in collided with a semi truck in Western Minnesota. It happened Monday afternoon about ten miles west of Benson, Minnesota. The students were in a Hancock Public School transport van. The man driving the semi was evaluated at the scene and released. He told investigators the van's driver failed to yield when she collided with the truck.

The driver is identified as 68-year old Judith Van Eps. She is hospitalized in stable condition.

Sheriff's officials say the semi was heading east on County Road 20 when the van struck the front driver's side wheel directly behind the cab.
